Associated Job Interview Questions

Media abilities: They are associated with the assimilation of new and traditional ways of communication and their efficient application. Assurance in front of the media, in press conferences, in conferences with your colleagues and the community, in CD recording, in teleconferences, etc. Good relations with the press, ability to communicate what you want in a clear and simple way. It is related with “contact modality” competence but in a more specific sense, because it is referred to the media.

ASSOCIATED QUESTIONS

  1. Do the strategies of your company include exposition to the media? If so, tell me about an experience that you consider relevant. How did you prepare yourself for that? How did you feel during the exposition?
  2. Did you ask to see the recording in order to analyze yourself?
  3. What repercussion did you get? Did you get phone calls congratulating or criticizing you?
  4. Describe some situation in which it was difficult for you to manage a communication about a delicate situation your organization had to face. What media did you use to make this communication? What effects did you get after that?
  5. What articles or books have you recently published? Have you made presentations? What repercussion have your organization had?
  6. How have you developed your abilities for exposition to the media?

Note: The best way of evaluating and developing this competence in through the assessment technique which is not very likely to be used at these levels and during the selection process, not in the technical point of view but because of the lack of availability of the candidates to take tests. A possible idea, in this line of thought, is to ask the interviewee to bring some video so you can “see them in action”.
