The things you shouldn’t forget:

  • 1. Reread the curriculum before the interview for you to know who you are going to interview.
  • 2. Have the profile requirement very clear.
  • 3. Have a list of the unacceptable questions (they will depend on the country, customs and uses. See chapter 15 and the Appendix).
  • 4. Prepare three or four key questions that you shouldn’t omit in relation with the CV and the profile.

BEFORE THE INTERVIEW

  • Analyze the candidate’s curriculum.
  • Plan the questions you are going to pose.
  • Based on the position description, add the additional questions, if necessary.

DURING THE INTERVIEW

  • Prepare yourself and relax the candidate.
  • Explain the way in which the interview will be developed: “I pose the question first and then it will be your turn”.
  • Use the given questions. These questions were created to get general and specific information about the candidate’s abilities.
  • Take notes.
  • Give the candidate the chance to make questions.
  • Explain the future steps and the follow up procedures.

AFTER THE INTERVIEW

  • Analyze all the relevant information and make an analysis immediately after the interview.
  • Complete the necessary forms.
